Informed consent to remote care.
Before any provider can treat you through our platform, you need to understand what telehealth is, what it can't do, the benefits and risks, your rights as a patient, and your responsibilities. Read this document in full. Your continued use of our services means you consent to the terms below.
A prescription is not guaranteed.
Completing a consultation and paying for services does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued. Our healthcare providers have sole and absolute discretion to prescribe, modify, or decline any treatment based on their professional medical judgment.
A provider may decline to prescribe, recommend an alternative treatment, or require additional information or in-person evaluation before treating you. This is a feature of responsible care, not a flaw in the process.
What telehealth is.
WellMensRX provides telehealth services for the evaluation and treatment of men's sexual health conditions including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and related concerns. Telehealth is the delivery of healthcare through electronic communication and information technology when you and your provider are not in the same physical location.
Our platform uses asynchronous consultations: you complete a comprehensive medical questionnaire, and a licensed physician in your state reviews your information and makes a determination about your treatment eligibility. Some state requirements may also require a live video consultation (see Section 8).
What to expect from the process.
- A comprehensive medical intake questionnaire and health assessment
- Review of your medical history, current medications, supplements, and conditions
- Evaluation by a U.S.-licensed physician authorized to practice in your state
- Prescription of medications (FDA-approved, generic, or compounded) when medically appropriate
- Ongoing secure messaging for treatment adjustments and follow-up questions
- Access to licensed providers for non-emergency care and coordination
All physicians delivering care through WellMensRX are licensed to practice in your state. Prescriptions are issued only after a medical evaluation determines that treatment is appropriate and safe for you.
Why men choose telehealth.
- Convenience: complete your consultation from anywhere, without taking time off or traveling
- Privacy: discuss sensitive health topics from home
- Accessibility: reach specialized care that may not be available locally
- Time efficiency: avoid waiting rooms and schedule around your life
- Continuity of care: stay in touch with your provider for adjustments and questions
- Discreet delivery: medications ship in plain, unmarked packaging
When used appropriately, telehealth provides care of equivalent quality to many in-person consultations for conditions like ED.
The limits of remote care.
Limitations of telehealth
- A provider cannot perform a physical examination or in-person diagnostic tests
- Assessment depends on the accuracy and completeness of information you provide
- Complex or urgent conditions may require in-person evaluation
- Technology failures or connectivity issues may disrupt communication
- Telehealth is not appropriate for every patient or every condition
Medical risks
- Misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis if critical information is incomplete
- Medication side effects and adverse reactions (as with any care setting)
- Treatment may not be effective for every patient
- Underlying conditions contributing to ED may not be identified without comprehensive in-person evaluation
If your provider determines your condition requires in-person evaluation, laboratory testing, or specialized care, you will be referred to an appropriate healthcare facility. You are responsible for following up on referrals.
Alternatives to telehealth
You have the right to choose how you receive healthcare. Alternatives include:
- In-person consultation with a urologist, primary care physician, or men's health specialist
- Your primary care provider, who has access to your full medical history
- Specialist care — urology or sexual medicine for a comprehensive evaluation
- Mental health support if ED has psychological contributors — a therapist or sex therapist
Your rights as a patient.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting future care
- Right to access your medical records under HIPAA
- Right to privacy — your consultations and records remain confidential under applicable law
- Right to ask questions about your diagnosis, treatment options, medications, or any aspect of care
- Right to a second opinion from another healthcare provider at any time
- Right to refuse treatment — you may decline any recommendation or medication
- Right to know provider credentials — you can request information about your provider's qualifications and licensure
If you have concerns about your care or wish to file a complaint, contact our support team. We are committed to addressing concerns promptly.

When we may disclose information
- To your dispensing pharmacy to fill prescriptions
- To payment processors to process transactions
- When required by law (court orders, legal investigations, public health reporting)
- To prevent imminent harm to you or others
For full detail on how we collect, use, and protect information, see our Privacy Policy.

State-specific rules.
Physicians delivering care through our platform are licensed in the state where you are located. Some states impose additional requirements:
- In states including Alaska, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and North Dakota, state law may require a live video consultation or additional steps before a prescription can be issued.
- If your state has additional requirements, we will let you know during intake and coordinate a video consult when needed. You may still receive care from us — the pathway is simply a bit different.
Certain controlled substances (Schedule I–V) are not prescribed through telehealth, in compliance with DEA regulations and state law.
What we need from you.
- Provide accurate information: complete, honest, and current details about your medical history, current medications, supplements, conditions, and symptoms. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in unsafe recommendations.
- Disclose all medications and supplements: you are solely responsible for disclosing every medication, supplement, and relevant condition. Failure to disclose may result in dangerous drug interactions. ED medications can have serious or life-threatening interactions with nitrates and certain other drugs.
- Keep your information current: notify us of changes to health status, medications, or contact information.
- Follow medical advice: take medications exactly as prescribed and follow provider instructions.
- Report side effects: contact your provider immediately if you experience any adverse reaction or unexpected symptom.
- Attend follow-up: respond to provider messages and complete follow-up consultations when requested.
- Secure your account: keep credentials confidential and use secure connections.
- Seek emergency care when needed: telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies.
Providing false or misleading information to obtain prescription medications is illegal and may result in termination of services and potential legal consequences.
Ongoing follow-up
- Regular check-ins: your provider may schedule periodic check-ins to assess treatment effectiveness
- Respond to provider messages in a timely manner
- Report treatment outcomes so your provider can adjust if needed
- Update health changes — new conditions, new medications
- Follow through on in-person referrals when your provider recommends them
Prescriptions and medication safety.
If your provider determines medication is appropriate, your prescription is filled by a licensed pharmacy or compounding facility that partners with WellMensRX.
About your medications
- May include brand-name drugs, generic equivalents, or compounded formulations
- Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies in accordance with federal regulations
- Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not undergone FDA review for safety, effectiveness, or quality
- Your provider determines which medication and formulation is most appropriate for you
Medication safety
- Take medications exactly as prescribed; do not exceed the recommended dose
- Do not take ED medications if you use nitrate medications or certain other drugs — your provider will screen for contraindications
- Do not share your medications with others
- Store medications in a cool, dry place away from children and pets
- Report side effects to your provider immediately
Controlled substances
In compliance with DEA regulations and state law, our providers do not prescribe controlled substances (Schedule I–V) through telehealth. If you require controlled substances, you must seek care from an in-person provider.
Transfers and refills
Prescriptions issued through WellMensRX are generally filled by our partner pharmacies. To transfer a prescription to your local pharmacy, contact support.
Emergencies.
Telehealth is not appropriate for medical emergencies. WellMensRX does not provide emergency medical care.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room.
By using our services, you understand that telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies, and you waive any claims against WellMensRX and its providers for harm arising from emergency situations, delayed care, or failure to seek immediate emergency treatment when warranted.
Examples of emergencies that require immediate in-person care
- Chest pain, pressure, or discomfort
